If someone from CalsSEO has sent you a piece of schema code and you are not sure what to do with it, you are in the right place. This guide walks you through exactly how to add it to your website, step by step, no technical experience needed.
Do not worry about what schema actually is or how it works. All you need to do is copy the code you have been given and drop it in the right spot. That is it.
Jump to your platform:
Shopify
Shopify makes this pretty straightforward. You do not need to touch any code files or settings. Here is all you need to do.
- 1.Go to your Shopify admin and click Online Store, then Themes.
- 2.Next to your current theme click Customise.
- 3.In the theme editor, click Add Section on the left hand side.
- 4.Scroll down and select Custom Liquid from the list of section types.
- 5.A box will appear on screen. Paste the schema code provided by CalsSEO directly into that box.
- 6.Click Save in the top right corner.
That is it. The schema is now live on your Shopify store.

WordPress
There are a couple of ways to do this in WordPress depending on how your site is set up. The easiest method that works for almost everyone is using a free plugin called WPCode.
- 1.Log into your WordPress dashboard.
- 2.Go to Plugins and click Add New.
- 3.Search for WPCode and install the free version, then click Activate.
- 4.In the left sidebar click Code Snippets, then click Add Snippet.
- 5.Give it a name like "Schema Markup" so you can find it later.
- 6.Paste the schema code provided by CalsSEO into the code box.
- 7.Set the location to Site Wide Header using the dropdown menu.
- 8.Toggle the snippet to Active and click Save.
Done. The plugin handles the rest and your schema is now running on your site.
WPCode is free and trusted by over a million WordPress sites. You do not need to touch any theme files or worry about breaking anything.
Squarespace
Squarespace does not have a built-in schema tool but you can still add it manually using their code injection feature. Here is how.
- 1.Log into your Squarespace account and open your website editor.
- 2.Navigate to the specific page you want to add schema to.
- 3.Click the Settings icon for that page (the small gear icon).
- 4.Click the Advanced tab.
- 5.You will see a box labelled Header Code Injection. Paste the schema code provided by CalsSEO directly into that box.
- 6.Click Save and then publish your changes.
The schema is now attached to that page and Google will be able to read it.
If you want the schema to apply to your whole site rather than just one page, go to Settings, then Advanced, then Code Injection from your main Squarespace dashboard and paste it there instead.
Wix
Wix has its own built-in way to add custom code. It is called Velo or the Custom Code section depending on your Wix version. Here is the simplest method that works for both.
- 1.Log into your Wix account and go to your site dashboard.
- 2.Click Settings in the left sidebar.
- 3.Scroll down and click Custom Code under the Development and Integration section.
- 4.Click Add Custom Code in the top right corner.
- 5.Paste the schema code provided by CalsSEO into the code box.
- 6.Give it a name like "Schema Markup".
- 7.Set the placement to Head.
- 8.Choose which pages to apply it to, either All Pages or a specific page.
- 9.Click Apply.
That is all there is to it. Wix will add the code to your site automatically.
Make sure you select Head as the placement and not Body or Footer. Schema needs to be in the Head section to work correctly.
Not Sure If It Worked?
Once you have added the code, you can check if Google can read it by using the free Google Rich Results Test tool. Just paste in your website URL and it will show you what schema is on the page and whether it is working correctly.
